Rebels and redcoats clash during at the Inaugural Battle of Vinegar Hill Re-enactment on Sunday.

PIKEMEN WHO survived the recent Battle of Vinegar Hill have the chance to figure out where they went wrong by checking out a video of the battle, which was filmed for the Irish Times.

The event which took place over the bank holiday weekend drew large crowds to the town for the Saturday and Sunday and welcomed seasoned re-enactors from Kildare,BelfastandScotlandwho took on the roles of the more heavily-armed Redcoats.

The event, which was effectively a trial run for a bigger event to coincide with The Gathering next year, was very well attended, bringing a great buzz to the town for the weekend.
