KILTEALY STAR and famed Irish Tenor Anthony Kearns recently took part in a very special event at the Maryland Democratic Party Ball which celebrated President Barack Obama and Vice President Biden’s second Inauguration.

As a guest of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Anthony performed at the private luncheon in honour of America’s Medal of Honour recipients.

Speaking before the event, which took place on Sunday, Anthony said: “I appreciate the invitation to perform during this historic inauguration celebration, and it’s an honour to perform for the Medal of Honour recipients who served with such courage and bravery.”

Anthony, who hails from Kiltealy, first began his music career on the local trad scene before taking part in school shows at FCJ Bunclody. He is one of the founding members of the Irish Tenors and has enjoyed massive success both as part of that group, and as a soloist across the world.
