A solemn Service of installation attracted a packed congregation to St. Edan’s Cathedral in Ferns last Sunday afternoon where the Reverend Robert (Bob) Gray was appointed Archdeacon of Cashel, Ferns, Waterford and Lismore in succession to the Venerable Chris Long from Enniscorthy Union, who retired at the end of July.

Archdeacon Gray, a Dubliner from Monkstown, has been Rector of Ardamine, Kilnamanagh and Monamolin group of parishes for the past 16 years.

His installation as Archdeacon of Ferns was conducted by Right Rev. Michael Burrows, Bishop of the Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.

He was ordained Deacon in 1996 and Priest in 1997.

The Archdeacon was Curate Assistant of Clooney Parish, Diocese of Derry from 1996 – 1999 and has been Rector of the Ardamine Group of Parishes since 1999.
