The video for Ronan Furlong’s song, ‘Hoplite Armour’, taken from his album, ‘Minerva’s Meddling’, has reached the semi-final of a major international competition

THE VIDEO for a Wexford songwriter’s single has made it through to the semi-final stage of a major international competition.

Ronan Furlong’s, ‘Hoplite Armour’ video was shot entirely on location in county Wexford and its now made it through to the semi-finals of the Paris Music Video Undergound Festival.

Mr. Furlong, who is one of the most talented songwriters to ever emerge from the Model County, expressed delight when he heard the news on Friday.

The song itself was taken from his album, ‘Minerva’s Meddling’, which was reviewed in the Echo last year.

The video, which was directed by Wexford actress, Laura Way, will now be considered for the ‘Best of the Best’ screening which will be held later this year in Los Angeles.

‘Minerva’s Meddling’ is widely available on all digital download platforms while the video can be viewed on YouTube.
