Rosaleen a Wexford winner
WEXFORD GOLF Club had 89 ladies playing in windy conditions on Thursday in the Figtree Catering Company sponsored Par V competition. Despite the conditions, very good scores were brought home and scores on the back nine were deciding factors for second and third place.
Rosaleen Shiel played a lovely round with pars on the 7th and 12th holes finishing with 3Up on the front nine and 1Up on the back nine. As this was also a charity event, Rosaleen will now represent the ladies in the 3Ts Regional qualifying event. Martina Dempsey is back in full swing after her injury and her 3up on the back nine edged her ahead of Delma Wilson who finished 2Up on the back nine. Beppi O’Connor won her first golf prize with the club, taking the best 36 with a 1UP score. Aisling O’Leary and Róisín Leahy, no strangers to the winners’ enclosure, won the gross and senior.
