€100,000 to be allocated for ground development
DELEGATES FROM the Junior, Womens and Schoolboys Leagues were in Whites Hotel last week to hear details of the 2010 FAI Annual General Meeting and Festival of Football which will be held in Wexford in August.
FAI Director of Football Support Services, Gerry McDermott and FAI Marketing and Events Manager, Siobhan Keane were present to outline details of the Festival.
To mark the occasion, the FAI has allocated €100,000 which will be awarded to clubs for ground improvements, etc.
Application forms were distributed at the meeting with March 31st the deadline for submissions.
The successful projects will be announced at the end of April.
The AGM will be held in Whites Hotel, Wexford on Saturday, August 21st and will be preceded by a delegate dinner dance on Friday night.
The FAI party will be here from Monday of that week, and with Whites Hotel as their base, will travel around the county, engaging in club visits and FAI activities.
This will be part of the by now well established week-long Festival of Football, which has previously been held in Kerry, Mayo and Monaghan.
The big event is in Wexford this year to mark the 50th anniversary of the Wexford Football League.
The Clare and Donegal Leagues are next in line, and will host 2011 and 2012 events.
