A MAN has appeared before Gorey District Court on a number of charges relating to a fatal crash in Courtown Harbour on June 15.

Paul Byrne (19) with an address at Ballinatray, Courtown was arrested on Tuesday, July 24 by Gardaí in Gorey and later charged. He appeared in court on Wednesday before Judge Gerard Haughton where he was formally charged with a number of offences relating to the June 15 crash in which another 19 year old man lost his life when the jeep he was in broke through a wall and into the harbour at Courtown.

The defendant has been remanded on bail to Gorey District Court in September.
