Raining very heavily in Wexford between 10.30 and 11.30 a.m., with conditions deteriorating. High tide in Wexford harbour is due about 6 p.m. For more information on tide levels, look up the Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club website, which is excellent.

Wet and very windy today in the county. Heavy rain will spread northwards through the morning and afternoon. Heavy showers will follow in the late afternoon and evening. Strong east to southeast winds will become south to southeast and will be strongest in the afternoon and evening with some severe gusts, especially along south and east coasts. Risk of coastal flooding along the south coast. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees. When Wexford last flooded, the worst affected areas were Ardcavan, Castlebridge and the all roads on the quays, including Redmond Square and Selskar. Would be wise to have the sandbags ready
