GARDAI IN New Ross are this week continuing their investigation into an incident which saw bales placed in the middle of a road and set on fire.

The incident occurred at around 2.30 a.m. on Friday, August 10, near Great Island. A spokesperson for the Gardai told the New Ross Echo that the bales were placed under high power electricity lines.

“Three bales were set alight and placed on the road,” said the Garda.

Members of New Ross Fire Service were also called to the scene and extinguished the fires.
