FOLLOWING AN exhaustive exercise, Ann O’Leary of The Book Café, Gorey, was announced the winner of the August award in the ‘Outstanding Staff Member Awards’ series announced last Thursday.

Ann manages the Book Café in conjunction with Ben Corrigan and they employ five part-time time staff.
The business was set up in November 2011 following the closure of the Indoor Market on the Main Street.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony, Gorey Chamber CEO, Dick White, noted; “The real purpose of the award is to encourage the highest possible standards. We are pleased that Ann has been judged the winner on this occasion and we look forward to promoting the town as the one that delivers excellent customer service”
This was the second Gorey Chamber sponsored ‘Outstanding Staff Member of Gorey Award’ of 2012.
The Award is aimed at improving the level of service of customer service received by all customers.
With a mystery judge in town sometime during the month of August a random selection of businesses was assessed covering such areas as personal engagement, welcome, courtesy, etc.
