THIS YEAR’S New Ross Piano Festival will include a free concert as a taster for what’s included in the main programme of events.

The initiative follows on from last year’s event when the organisers held a free concert in conjunction with Culture Night.

As a spokesperson for the organising committee commented to the New Ross Echo that while this year the festival will not coincide with Culture Night they were anxious to continue with the free concert initiative.

“The committee are continuing to present a free concert as a taster for the weekend piano extravaganza,” said the spokesperson.

The concert will feature Fergus Sheil.

The free concert will take place in St. Mary’s Church on Friday, September 28, at 6 p.m.

While it is free-of-charge and suitable for families the organisers are encouraging people to get their free tickets in advance from St. Michael’s Theatre on 051-421255.
