THE GARDAI in New Ross are investigating a single vehicle accident that occurred near Scarke, on the road between Enniscorthy and New Ross early this morning.

The accident occurred at around 5.30 a.m. There was only one vehicle involved. One person was injured in the accident and was removed from the scene to hospital, however, the injuries are not believed to be serious. The road was closed for a period of time following the accident to allow emergency services clear debris. The road is now open again for traffic.

The Gardai are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about the accident can contact New Ross Gardai on 051-421204. All calls will be treated in strict confidence.
