WEXFORD GAA looks set to clinch the services of one of the county’s most prized coaching assets by appointing JJ Doyle as the new manager of the county’s under-21 hurlers.
Doyle has just led Wexford to an unprecedented hat-trick of All-Ireland senior camogie championship titles, together with All-Ireland intermediate championship and National League honours, and the Marshalstown man is now set to succeed Tony Dempsey in the under-21 job. Former senior hurler and current referee Niall McDonald (Crossabeg-Ballymurn) is, as hinted in EchoSport last week, going to be part of the backroom team along with 1996 All-Ireland-winning attacker Larry Murphy (Cloughbawn).
