THE €6M Wexford County Library opened its doors to the public for the first time this week.

Located on Mallin St., the three storey, ultra modern library boasts 26 public access PCs and two Apple macs and has wi-fi throughout. It has 70,000 books and magazines spread throughout, as well as CDs, large print books, talking books, graphic novels and DVDS.

There is new microfilm and scanning technology available for customers and more advanced self service technology also.

On the top floor there is a heritage studies and education studies section.

People can access the library’s 24/7 service online at where they can order materials online from all collections, extend the loan period on items, book a library pc in advance, or study a foreign language online.
