THIRTY VOLUNTARY organisations shared in a €9,000 pay out by Gorey Town Council at tonight’s meeting.

The cheques were presented by the Leas-Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Bernard Crosbie, who complimented all of the groups for their sterling efforts. Town Clerk, David Minogue said the efforts of voluntary groups were being recognised by the people of Gorey.

The groups who received €300 each included Doire Fea Resident’s Association, Gorey Choral Group, Gorey Community Games, Gorey Social Services Council, Gorey Family Resource Centre, Gorey Girl Guides, Gorey Gymnastics Club, Gorey Heartsafe Project Group, Gorey Hill Resident’s Association, Gorey Hockey Club, Gorey Little Theatre, Gorey Meals-on-Wheels, Gorey Men’s Shed, Gorey Musical Society, Gorey Rangers Schoolboys, Gorey Red Cross, Gorey Tidy Towns’, Gorey Tourism, Hazelwood Resident’s Association, New2 Gorey Women’s Group, North Wexford Historical Society, NWSPCA, Ramsfort Resident’s, Sr. Antonia Unit, St. Aidan’s Unit, Millands, Sr. Clemens Community Playschool Ltd, St. Aidan’s Day Care Services, St. Columba’s Day Care, Week of the Elderly, St. Patrick’s Snooker Club and St. Michael’s Pipe Band.
