A WELL known Wexford Garda has been suspended pending a major investigation into alleged offences within the county, this newspaper can exclusively reveal.
The Echo has learned that the Garda (whose name cannot be revealed presently) is being investigated over a series of alleged financial offences which occurred in the county in recent years, up until the middle of this year.
Although Garda sources have remained tight lipped on the Garda investigation, this newspaper understands that a wide range of offences are being investigated internally by a team led by Enniscorthy based officers.
The Garda, (who was based in the Wexford district), has been suspended and if found guilty of the offences he is being investigated for, faces dismissal from the force and the loss of his pension entitlement.
