County senior hurling boss Liam Dunne has confirmed that he is fighting to secure the services of the former National Director of Hurling, Paudie Butler to aid Wexford’s quest for honours.

Former Tipperary dual player Butler, who previously managed the Laois hurlers, was received extremely enthusiastically when he took the Wexford players for a number of sessions recently. But, because Butler is an employee of the GAA, he is not allowed under rule to assist any inter-county team, and consequently Dunne is battling to have Butler released by Croke Park to assist Wexford’s cause.
