A CHEQUE presentation was made recently to one of New Ross town’s most respected charity organisations.

The local branch of St. Vincent de Paul was the beneficiary at the handover ceremony which took place in the New Ross Adult Learning Centre.

The money was presented to Matty Foley who accepted the cheque on behalf of the SVDP.

The funds were raised from donations made at a Christmas meal prepared by VTOS learners under the guidance of their cookery teacher, Joanne Sheppard. In addition to raising €200 for the charity the meal itself went down a storm with all of the VTOS students.

They also voted on what local charity would get the money raised and everyone involved said they got great pleasure in knowing it will be used by the SVDP.
