GARDAI IN New Ross are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in the town on Sunday night.

The incident happened at around 9.15 p.m. in Meyler’s Park when three men entered the house of a man in his 60s.

A Garda spokesperson told The Echo that one of the intruders held the owner of the house in the kitchen while the other two culprits carried out a search of the premises.

One of the men was armed with an iron bar.

A quantity of money was taken from a bedroom in the house. The men wore dark clothes.

The Gardai are appealing for witnesses who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area around that time.
