Sources indicate that the Wexford footballers’ postponed second round National League clash away to Armagh could now go ahead on Saturday week, 23rd February.

Wexford officials had sought a re-fixture for this weekend, but that request was not satisfied partly owing to the involvement of Armagh football giants Crossmaglen Rangers in Saturday’s All-Ireland Club championship semi-final.

While it was believed that the Armagh-Wexford game would be put back to the end of the group programme, EchoSport has learned that the key clash is now expected to take place on Saturday week – 24 hours before the Wexford hurlers’ opening National League game away to Carlow, thus freeing Lee Chin to aid both codes.
