Long-serving centre-back David Murphy has reclaimed the no.6 shirt for the Wexford senior footballers’ vital National League Division 2 clash with Louth in Drogheda on Sunday.
The St. Mary’s-Rosslare man won his last start in the opening League clash with Longford on February 3rd last, and has been sprung from the ‘bench in the last two rounds, against Armagh and Derry. But the central defensive spot has proved a problematic area in his absence, and thus Murphy is recalled to help strengthen a back division which was badly exposed in last Sunday’s heavy defeat to Derry. Murphy comes in for dual player Lee Chin, who will be assisting the senior hurlers in their League assignment against Offaly.
The only other personnel change sees Anthony Masterson being restored to goalkeeping duties after Tom Hughes enjoyed a rare outing between the sticks last Sunday.
