WORK ON the by-passes of New Ross and Enniscorthy will not commence before 2015.

That was the news relayed to members of Wexford Co. Council at their monthly meeting last week by the Director of Services for Roads, Eamonn Hore.

Mr. Hore, who is also New Ross Town Manager, contained the information in his monthly report.

In it he stated: “The New Ross and Enniscorthy bypass was included on a list of projects announced during summer 2012 that are part of a Government Stimulus Package aimed at boosting the economy.”

However, he added: “It is expected this project will not commence prior to 2015.”

In his report Mr. Hore also stated that while the bypass projects are based on Public Private Partnership the model proposed will not involve tolling.
