ENNISCORTHY REMAINS on high alert after the River Slaney burst its banks this afternoon and has caused flooding in a number of areas including Templeshannon Quay and along the Promenade.

Sandbags have been deployed to businesses in close proximity to the river and Town Council workmen are on standby in the event of any further flooding.

Diversions are in place around the town and delays are reported for those traveling through the town.
