THE FAMILY of Nicola Furlong are planning to sue the hotel in Tokyo where she was murdered.
The Furlongs returned from Tokyo last night, following the trial into the 21-year-old Wexford woman’s murder, in the Japanese city last May.

Nicola’s father Andrew said they will take a civil action for negligence against the Keio Plaza Hotel.

Nineteen-year-old American Richard Hinds was convicted of the murder of Ms. Furlong on Tuesday and sentenced to 5-10 years in jail.
During his trial, the court heard how a staff member at the hotel assisted Mr. Hinds in putting Ms. Furlong into a wheelchair, while she was unconscious.

The Furlongs are planning to sue the hotel on the grounds of vicarious liability, in relation to Ms. Furlong’s death in one of their rooms.
