BK1406-A

A CO. Wexford company has been commended for producing an innovative new anti-bullying resource aimed specifically at primary school children.

‘Bullying in a Cyber World’ has just been launched by Prim-Ed Publishing based in New Ross.

The resource is designed to help teachers tackle the issue of bullying in school. However, what is really significant about the initiative is the fact it’s composed in a manner that will be easily accessible for children of all ages attending primary school.

The scheme will see pupils nationwide being asked to sign an anti-bullying pledge and learn how to cope with and report unacceptable behaviour at school, online and in the wider community.

The ground-breaking series of books and posters targets children as young as four years-of-age. Through child-focused and age-appropriate words, pictures and text, the publication teaches children how to deal with and prevent bullying.

The pack also offers advice on what to say to bullies in addition to offering information for children on how to identify people in whom they can confide.
