THE OFFSHOOT of progress is that sometimes it can lead to long serving collaborations and relationships coming to an end.

That was the case witnessed recently in the Kennedy Memorial swimming pool in New Ross when the Charlefield Swimming Club held its final swim there.

What made the occasion significant and poignant was the fact the club, based in the Rower, has an association with the pool going back over 38 years.

To mark the event a special presentation was made to the club Secretary, Betty Gannon, by John O’Brien.
