THREE PEOPLE were hospitalised following a two-car collision in Scarawalsh, with one suffering from serious injuries.

The crash, which took place after 4 p.m yesterday, caused the closure of the N11 road for several hours with a huge disruption to traffic.

The road closed following the collision until roughly 9 p.m, as fire brigade personnel worked to clear the debris from the vehicles and Gardaí carried out a technical investigation.

The injured parties were taken to Wexford General Hospital with one treated for serious injuries, although they were not said to be life-threatening.

The cause for the incident, which happened on a straight road with excellent driving conditions, is unclear, but Gardaí are investigating the matter.

All witnesses are asked to contact Enniscorthy Garda Station with any information they may have.
