A COMMUNITY came to a standstill on Sunday to bid farewell to a young mother who was the victim of a fatal car crash.
Mourners spilled out of St. John The Baptist Church, The Ballagh to say goodbye to 23-year-old Cara Lee O’Brien who died as a result of injuries sustained in a two-car collision on the main Wexford-Gorey road on Thursday.
Cara Lee, also known as Cazy, was travelling on the R741 when the crash happened around 10 a.m at Raheenaskeagh, north of the junction for Oulart village.
The driver of the other car received serious injuries and he was removed by Wexford GeneralHospital.
Speaking at her funeral mass on Sunday, chief celebrant Rev. Dermot Gahan recalled a loving, bubbly woman who “thought the world” of her little son Jason.
Cara Lee is survived by her partner Sean, son Jason, parents Caroline and Eddie, brother Liam, grandparents and legion of family and friends.
