A STUDENT from the New Ross area has been presented with one of Waterford Institute of Technology’s most prestigious awards.

John Kehoe, from Shanbough, Co. Kilkenny, was presented with the AIB Centre for Finance and Business Research Best Paper Award for his post-graduate dissertation in the area of accounting.

Mr. Kehoe recently completed his Master of Business Studies (MBS) in Accounting.

He received his award at the fifth annual presentation ceremony of its type. The aim of the awards is to recognise excellence in undergraduate research projects and postgraduate dissertations in the areas of accounting, economics and finance.

The ceremony was held recently at WIT. The award was presented to Mr. Kehoe by Ger Long, Head of Accounting and Economics at WIT.

Among those in attendance at the ceremony were Mr. Kehoe’s parents, Michael and Helen.
