After a series of planning objections almost knocked the project off the starting block, Meadows and Byrne is finally set to open the doors of its Wexford store on next Wednesday, October 23.

The new store, which is located in the Drinagh Retail Park, has created 34 new jobs so far.

20 new employees have been hired to work in the home store and garden centre, meanwhile a further 14 people have been taken on to work in the Kelly’s Café.

Owner of Kelly’s Resort in Rosslare Bill Kelly says that the opening of the new “Avoca-style” restaurant will also create many more jobs for the town indirectly.

“We will use all local suppliers, which creates indirect employment”, he said.
