WHEN IT comes to Halloween there can’t be a more suitable setting for spooky goings on than Loftus Hall.
Steeped in its own macabre history the mansion is reputed to be the most haunted house in Ireland.
However, the owners of the house are launching a brand new interactive tour which, in keeping with the Halloween season, promises to bring terror to an altogether different level.
Visitors will be able to choose from an evening Over-21’s tour or the new Halloween Quest Tour which will be open to all members of the family.
However, there is a caveat; you may enter of your own free will but only the Hall will decide if you’re allowed to leave!
Commenting on the tour the hall’s owner, Aidan Quigley, said: “The new tour last 60 minutes and features actors throughout playing the roles of noted historical figures from Loftus Hall’s dim and murky past.”
Mr. Quigley also commented that the props and special effects used on the tour are “guaranteed to test the nerve of even the most brave hearted.”
Hook Lighthouse is located just down the road and during Halloween it also runs ghostly tours taking visitors up the 115 steps to the original keepers’ quarters.
The activities on the Hook Peninsula are just some of the events taking place across Co. Wexford this Halloween season.
Enniscorthy Castle will play host to a ‘School of Witches and Wizards’ while 300 year-old, Wells House, will have its own ghoulish guides telling tales of resident spirits.
The Irish National Heritage Park is celebrating Halloween with ‘Tales of the Enchanted Forest’ kids tour (for children aged 5 to 10) and for the brave people in the south east the ‘Park After Dark’ initiative will take place in the park from October 25 to November 2.
This attraction is super scary and kids must be over eight years-of-age and be accompanied by an adult
The Haunted Halloween Tour return this year to Wells House. They will continue until November 1.
For lots of family fun ‘Gorey Halloween’ in Gorey town will have plenty of activities for all the family including the Halloween Masquerade Ball, themed bars and restaurants.
