GARDAI FROM four different stations in counties Wexford and Waterford were called to the scene of an incident in New Ross over the Christmas period.

Members of the force from Wexford, Enniscorthy and Waterford Garda Stations assisted their colleagues in New Ross when a domestic incident occurred at a house in the Lower Mount Carmel area of the town on St. Stephen’s Day.

A spokesperson for the local station said assistance was required when local officers went to the scene.

The Gardai received a report about ‘a domestic incident’ at around 4.20 a.m. on St. Stephen’s Day. However, having arrived at the scene and assessing the situation the local Gardai immediately requested assistance from their neighbouring stations.

One person was brought from the scene to Wexford General Hospital but was released later that same day.

A female in the house was treated for superficial injuries at the scene by paramedics.

No-one was arrested following the incident, however, the matter is being fully investigated and it’s believed charges may arise during the course of the investigation.
