FORMER WEXFORD hurler Paul Codd was released from Mountjoy Prison before Christmas after he told the High Court that he would be willing to cooperate “to the best of my ability” in relation to his bankruptcy proceedings.
Codd’s arrest was ordered in October of this year but Gardai admitted in the High Court in November that they had not yet been able to locate him.
He was arrested on Saturday, December 21 for failing to cooperate about his affairs with official bankruptcy assignee Chris Lehane.
He appeared in court two days later, accompanied by Wexford TD Mick Wallace. The former hurler told Mr. Justice Kevin Cross that he would make a statement to Mr. Lehane. After making a sworn affidavit in the court, he was told that he could go home.
Codd told the court that he was now prepared to cooperate with Mr. Lehane “to the best of my ability.
The matter was adjourned until January 20.
