Cahore1

Cahore this afternoon showing debris where the public car park was washed away in yesterday’s storm

Cahore took the brunt of the stormy high tide waves yesterday afternoon and the public car park was completely washed away.

However, good news comes from Cllr. Malcolm Byrne who has stated that Wexford Council Council will restore the car park surface at Cahore.

The weather has wreaked havoc in recent weeks and has resulted in significant coastal erosion in the North Wexford area.

Sand has been removed at Morriscastle and Ballymoney and there is damage to the beach in the burrow at Courtown.

North Wexford will be expecting its fair share of financial compensation when the Government reviews the recent weather damage nationwide and it is anticipated that all necessary repair work will be done in advance of the summer season, which is the lifeblood of these coastal communities.
