ENNISCORTHY IS reeling following the weekend passing of a 54-year-old mother of three.
Maree O’Connor died tragically at her home at St. Senan’s Road on Sunday; she is survived by her husband Danny, member of the local fire brigade service and proprietor of Danny’s Angling and Outdoor Store, and three grown up children.
Mrs. O’Connor, well known in Enniscorthy and further afield as both a home carer and an organiser of community events such as field days and Christmas fairs, will repose at the family home until removal to St. Senan’s Parish Church for the Funeral Mass at noon on Wednesday.
Daughter of Tommy and Annie Manning, the late Mrs. O’Connor grew up on Ivy Road, Templeshannon, with her four siblings, Joseph, Elizabeth and successful jockeys, Tomas and Donal.
Many tributes have been paid to the deceased. Described as ‘a wonderful woman and a great neighbour’, Mrs. O’Connor, who took great pride in her appearance, had ‘the most bubbly, vivacious, outgoing enthusiastic’ personality. She was renowned for her love of travel, only last month returning from a holiday abroad.
