On Sunday morning Wexford Gardai arrested a man in his 30s in relation to the theft of a number of personal items from the jury room at Wexford Circuit Court last October.
Sergeant Denis Whelan said that following questioning the man, who is from Wexford, was charged with the theft.
The incident occurred last October while 12 jurors were hearing evidence in a trial. When the jury was asked to retire by Judge Barry Hickson to allow for legal argument, the jury members discovered that a number of their personal belongings had been stolen from the jury room.
The stolen items included wallets, handbags, cash and credit cards.
