A Wexford lottery player is one of six winners of Saturday night’s jackpot. The winner, who does not wish to be named, was one of six players to pick the same winning numbers, which is a rare occurrence although it has happened at least once before in Ireland, in March 2006.
The total pot of €3,528,865 will be divided between the six winners and the Wexford player will receive a sum of €588,144.
The winning ticket was sold for €20 on Saturday at Dunnes Stores on Redmond Square. It was not a quick-pick; the customer picked his/her own set of numbers.
Personnel Manager at the store Natasha O’Leary said that she could confirm that on yesterday (Monday) morning the winner came into the store with the ticket.
“Management and staff here are absolutely delighted that it was won in the store. For now the person does not want to go public but perhaps when everything has died down they will”, she said.
