THE APEX Sport and Leisure Centre in New Ross will be offering free swims to the general public this coming Saturday, February 1, as part of National Swimming Day.
The initiative is being organised in conjunction with Swim Ireland and is linked to the TV programme Operation Transformation.
The National Swimming Day initiative is expected to be announced on the programme tomorrow night.
A spokesperson for the local pool commented on the initiative to The Echo and said: “As this is free, to help control numbers, we are taking bookings here which we will pass onto Swim Ireland next Thursday, January 30.”
Anyone intending to avail of the free swim has to register in advance with the pool to do so due to the high number of people expected to participate.
The free swimming initiative will take place at the centre between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. however, to avail of the offer people have to register by phoning the Apex on 051-445522.
