The head of the national Drink Aware campaign has criticised a number of youngsters in Wexford who have joined in an online drinking game called “neknomination”.
In one video a Wexford man is shown downing a naggin of vodka and two cans of beer in a tankard before he jumped into the pond at Wexford Golf Club.
Meanwhile, a Kilmuckridge man posted a video of him downing a pint of beer wearing just his underpants in a child’s toy ride in Tesco.
Another Wexford teen came under fire after he posted a video online which appeared to show him downing a full bottle of vodka in one go, but he has since revealed that the stunt was actually performed using water.
The video went viral within just hours and received over 3,000 likes on the social media site Facebook before it was eventually removed by the 19 year old.
The young man revealed to The Echo that the stunt was intended as a practical joke meant just for friends, which was misinterpreted and received far more intention than he ever expected.
The stunt internet sensation “neknomination” encourages youngsters to make videos of themselves gulping down bottles of beer.
