LOVE WILL be in the air on Valentine’s Night, Friday, February 14th, when couples from Buffer’s Alley GAA Club take to the floor for a Strictly Come Dancing Night in the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey.
Endless hours of practice have gone into perfecting the various steps and the organisers reckon that everybody is ready to thrill a large attendance.
Thirteen couples will perform a number of dances including jive, rock n’ roll, quickstep, cha cha, dirty dancing, modern mix, Charleston, and country mix, to name but a few.
The competition is expected to be competitive, friendly and fun with four couples going forward to compete with the dancers from Ferns-St. Aidan’s and Oulart-the Ballagh in the grand final on Saturday, March 8th in Whites Hotel, Wexford.
Voting will be by a panel of judges with the audience also getting an opportunity to cast votes for the dancing couple of their choice.
The Buffers Alley’s dancing team are: Micheál Kelly and Emer O’Leary, Matty Foley and Cate Donohoe, Colm Hearne and Joyce Harney, Mick Butler and Liz Murphy, Barry Doyle and Anne Cousins, John Hammel and Elaine Bolger, Tony Doran Jnr. and Michelle Morris, Seán O’Leary and Stellah Sinnott, Eddie and Bernie Roche, Andrew Kenny and Louise Hammel, Ann Codd and Will Walsh, James Foley and Lisa Johnston, Francis Harney and Margaret Kinsella.
There is a full and varied programme of entertainment organised for the evening with music, song and dance with some novelty items thrown in for extra enjoyment, all for just €10 and €5 for under 16s.
