Filling Station at Courtown

The MACE shop and filling station at Courtown has been badly damaged by today’s stormy conditions.

First reports indicate that the roof came off the apartments across the road and slammed into the premises.

There are no reports of injuries.

In Gorey town the top half of the roof of the Naomh Eanna GAA Clubhouse has fallen down.

Traffic is flowing well through the town, but there are many fallen trees on back roads around the district.

Electricity and telephone services are affected and crews are working to get the system up and running.

Fire services were called to the Gorey-Courtown road where they are dealing with fallen trees.
