A GROUP of ten students, along with two teachers, from EnniscorthyVocationalCollege will head for Prague next week as part of the International Festival of Youth Orchestras 2014.

The group, with teachers Bridín Kelly and Anita Cullen will spend three nights in the Czech capital during which time they will take part in the local festival which will feature orchestras from all over the world.

The group ranges in age from first years up to sixth years, with the girls playing violin, cello, flute and clarinet.

During the event, the group will get to see other orchestras perform as well as showing off their own talents.

Teacher, Ms. Kelly explained that the event would welcome choirs and orchestras but as far as she was aware the VocationalCollege was the only Wexford group attending.

“We’ve worked very hard on our orchestra. We have a scheme in the school where you can rent your instruments from us for €40 per year and we have free tuition then from various instructors.”
