A LETTER sent by the Chairperson of Wexford Milk Producers to the supplying farmers to Wexford Creamery has warned those thinking of moving to supply Strathroy Diaries that they may face removal from the share register.

The letter issued to the suppliers by Matty Murphy explained that the Competition Authority was continuing to investigate the sale of Wexford Creamery to Glanbia Ingredients Ireland Ltd. and that this process usually closed well within the statutory deadline.

He said: “We are hopeful that we may only lose a relatively short few weeks before we complete. We remain confident that the Competition Authority will give its clearance once it has completed its work.”

The recent news of Strathroy Dairies offering a different deal to Wexford suppliers was also addressed with Mr. Murphy saying that it was the Board’s considered opinion that members would be better off staying with Wexford and reaping the benefits of the Glanbia deal, which they felt was superior.
