The former Garda Station at Baldwinstown was sold last week for €75,000.
Chief Superintendent of the Wexford Garda Division John Roche confirmed that the building was sold during a public auction in Dublin on Thursday.
He explained that the Office of Public Works owned the building, like all other Garda Stations.
“It was permanently closed two years ago, so once we vacated the building the OPW could sell it if they wanted to,” said the Chief Superintendent.
He added that the building was divided into a station and living quarters, because years ago Gardai stationed there would have lived in the same building.
He noted that the sale of the building marked the end of an era in the history of An Garda Siochana, but remarked that it was good that someone would now “get use out of the building”.
