LOCAL ELECTION candidate Barbara Anne Murphy hit out, at her party launch at the weekend, at a ‘Welcome to Wexford’ sign which she said was on the wrong side of Bunclody town.
The sign, which is on the Enniscorthy side of the town, appears to position Bunclody outside the main boundary.
“Are they trying to push us into Carlow? It’s just not good enough.” said Ms. Murphy, who added that the area had been sorely neglected by the council over the last five years.
Ms. Murphy, who failed to retain her seat in the last election due to boundary changes, has already begun canvassing and said that her campaign will be based on business issues including the high rates, increasing tourism and combating further installation of wind farms and any construction of pylons.
