Cllr Robbie Ireton, who has been praised for his “well-earned reputation as an experienced councillor and a dedicated community activist,” is determined to retain a Labour seat on Wexford County Council following the Local Election on May 23rd.
The Minister for the Public Service and Reform, Brendan Howlin, TD, and MEP, Phil Prendergast, who is running for the European Elections in the South constituency, were amongst the supporters who gathered in the Loch gCarman Arms Hotel, Gorey, for the launch of Cllr Ireton’s campaign.
Minister Howlin said Cllr Ireton has “the biggest heart of anyone I know and he has a record of delivering.”
The Wexford-born Minister Howlin recalled that Cllr Ireton keeps him busy. “He phones my up four or five times a day and he is always bringing me around North Wexford to sort out some of the problems in the community.
MEP Phil Prendergast has brought The Labour Party into the spotlight today by questioning the Party leadership of Eamonn Gilmore.
Rumours are circulating locally that Mr Gilmore will be replaced by Brendan Howlin as Party Leader before the next General Election!
