Independent candidate Ger Carthy is expected to top the poll in the Wexford District, results of the latest tallies would suggest.
This is the first time that the son of the late County Councillor Leo Carthy has contested a local election.
The Our Lady’s Island native is the current Development Officer with the GAA and a HSE paramedic based at Wexford General Hospital.
