The official count has begun at the Wexford count centre. Meanwhile, party officials are busy collating tally results.
Figures emerging would suggest that Independent candidate Ger Carthy will top the poll.
Sinn Fein’s Anthony Kelly is expected to come in second place.
Current mayor George Lawlor will retain his seat, with tallies suggesting that he will come in third in the race.
Both Fianna Fail candidates Tony Dempsey and Fergie Kehoe are polling well also.
