A number of concerned business people, in conjunction with the Chairman of Wexford County Council, Cllr Malcolm Byrne, are convening a public meeting to discuss commercial rates in North Wexford.
Scheduled for Monday, July 7th in the Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, the meeting will discuss the fact that commercial rates in North Wexford have been higher than in other parts of the county for many years.
There is a general belief that with the abolition of the town council, and the move to a single local authority structure for Co Wexford, businesses should expect reductions to the point of equalisation.
The meeting will explain how the commercial rates system operates and look at the decision making process of Wexford County Council in striking the rate for 2015.
