The scene at Doran’s Hill, near Ferns, as a car caught fire.

A driver had a lucky escape when a car caught fire on Doran’s Hill, near Ferns on the road to Monageer, this evening.

The vehicle was completely destroyed, but fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.

A unit of Enniscorthy Fire Service attended the scene but there was very little they could do except cool down the remains of the vehicle.

The road has again reopened to traffic.
